Seeing Ducks

Recently Rick and I drove to see the specialist I see for interstitial cystitis in Jackson, MS.    Driving in the Delta area is monotonous.  There are a lot of low lying areas with swamps, lakes and rivers and really nothing else.  We were in the Delta when we passed an area just off to the right side of the road that had water that just about reached the road with 100s of ducks sitting in the water.  I was driving.  I remember thinking "where did all those ducks come from?"  Rick commented as we had just passed the water that those were some really weird plants.  I nearly fell out of the car.  I said, "Those were not plants.  Those were ducks."  He laughed loudly at me and after a few minutes of me insisting that he needed new glasses and I'd turn the car around to prove to him that they were ducks....I turned the car around and drove back down the highway to the spot where the ducks were sitting in the water.  Well they used to be ducks but somehow between the time that we had passed them and turned around to see them again they had turned into plants.  I'm pretty certain the entire state of Mississippi can still hear Rick laughing at me and yes...he did take photos of these lovely ducks...I mean plants.

I'll admit that I'm getting close to 50 and my eye sight isn't as great as it used to be.  But have you ever been so sure of something that you were willing to turn your car around just to prove you were right?  Or wrong in my case!   More and more I'm finding not to rely on my own senses especially when it comes to my ongoing health issues.  So I pray a lot and continually ask for help with what steps to take to find a cure for what the medical community calls an incurable disease.  Hoping to see the day when God turns my car around and proves the medical community wrong.
